That's me...
...the one who created this website.
Also the one who had the idea to try and develop it in 2020, to officially sell and distribute art. My own art, of course.
I am Sarah J. Markiel and the new artist you can trust.
However, my canvases are special. Because I want to create wearable art. Not new clothes either, but second hand and B-goods and mainly denim jackets.
So I don't just want to paint, but also sew from time to time and basically I want to bring art into the world, but I also have customers who hang the jackets on their walls and that also makes me happy.
Colourful in the mind
How did it start with my shop? Actually quite differently....
Thanks to my profession, technical product designer, I initially had the idea of creating technical drawings of all sorts of things, e.g. pets, food, flowers, etc. I still offer a few such drawings, but...
...I soon realised that this kind of art was too limited for me. I wanted to try out colours and styles and at the same time spread sustainability. I had been designing my own clothes for some time and so I started buying second-hand denim jackets, painting them and offering them for sale. Now I grow with every commission and every new idea and am always open to further inspiration to give clothing something special and increase the appreciation for it.
I have all this fun in my very private studio, others would also call it a living room, but studio definitely sounds better.
You've already found me on the internet, but of course I invite you to follow me, e.g. on social media, but sometimes you can also find me in real life, at arts and crafts markets.
I live in the north of Baden-Württemberg and the area in which I travel to these markets is correspondingly ‘natural’. But maybe I'll get so far with my art that I'll travel all over Germany and, while we're dreaming, maybe even beyond.
